What is your favorite part about being a designer?

I love helping clients dig deep into their past experiences of favorite places to help them recognize their unique aesthetic needs. I love hearing their stories and learning about their personal experiences with memorable places that influenced who they have become.  It is my greatest privilege to take those positive memories and create something tangible and livable for them that results in a new space for them where they feel supported and free to live out their goals and dreams.

Who or what would you cite as your most important influence?

I have a certification in Design Psychology.  This is the number one driver in my approach to design and how I help my clients interact with their space and receive greatest enjoyment from their home. Our environment can have harshly negative impacts on not only our physical well-being, but also our mental health, no matter how small.  My goal is to always be aware of those impacts each client’s home has on their positive well-being.

Can you tell us about your personal brand?

My personal brand has a strong focus on utilizing the techniques of Design Psychology to help clients identify their needs for not only aesthetic pleasure, but personal wholeness.  I take design a step further by not only creating a beautiful space, but one that meets clients where they are in their personal journey towards self-actualization.

What is your favorite color palette to work with?

I don’t have a favorite.  I love them all, because when used appropriately with the needs of the client in mind every color palette is beautiful.

If you could travel back, what advice would you give yourself as you start this career?

To not be afraid of going out after a very specific target market.  Making sure my business model served the needs of the demographic that I love to serve instead of trying to be everything to everyone.
