This week’s designer spotlight is on Holly Bellomy! Holly is an interior designer in the Texas area where she runs her own interior design company. She values authenticity, integrity, communication, and family. Most of all, she loves providing her clients with quality furnishings and a good dose of color. We hope you enjoy this spotlight and all that you have to learn from her.
What is your favorite part about being a designer?
My favorite part of being a designer is revealing the finished project to my clients. They have waited a long time for their special furnishings so installation day is a big deal. Walking them through their home for the first time is so exciting. Their joy is amazing as they see all of the details of their “new” home.
Who or what would you cite as your most important influence?
I was teaching elementary school when HGTV became popular. Candice Olson had a show called Divine Design and I loved it! The way that she was able to transform a space was incredible. I didn’t know it at the time, but several years later I would be transforming spaces too.
Can you tell us about your personal brand?
I work with a lot of rookie design clients so my brand is approachable. I work directly with all of my clients who typically have young children and pets so I create elegant yet low-maintenance designs.
What is your favorite color palette to work with?
I like most colors but I seem to work with a lot of light blue, navy, and orange.
If you could travel back, what advice would you give yourself as you start this career?
I would tell myself to expect a bumpy ride! There are many challenges that come with this profession that I did not expect and that’s OK. Take each day as it comes and don’t worry about the next. Everything always works out.
What do you like most about DesignerInc?
The customer service is top notch and the selection of furnishings is fantastic!
