This week, we would like to introduce you to Frank Gill from Frank Gill Design, a contemporary interior design company in California. Frank tries to focus most on the client and recognizing the fact that no two projects are alike. We hope you enjoy getting to know more about Frank through this spotlight.
What is your favorite part about being a designer?
Honestly, I love doing what I get to do. There is something spectacular in seeing the satisfaction of your clients after you complete a project. Plus, getting to create something from a blank canvas and exercising my creative juices is pretty enjoyable too!
Who or what would you cite as your most important influence?
Without a doubt — Frank Lloyd Wright. I can relate to him on so many levels. It is inspiring to see how he completely built and then furnished houses, basically getting to be involved in the creation of a house from start to finish. I just love that beautiful concept. I think back to how he was never recognized fully for what he did and so to me, he is an inspiration.Another fun fact is that I was born on the day Frank Lloyd Wright died. Add that to the fact that we have the same first name, and it’s no wonder he is my most important influence.
If you could travel back, what advice would you give yourself as you start this career?
Give yourself time to grow. Do not be anxious. Relax and enjoy life as it comes to you.
Can you tell us about your personal brand?
My style is soft contemporary. Actually, I brought this out to the desert area where I live because before that they had no contemporary style designs. I enjoy style that is not too modern but trendy — basically, mix the bold and the new together.What it really comes down to though is that I enjoy doing whatever the client enjoys. While I have my own style, I enjoy seeing the satisfaction on the customer in giving them an interior that they love and that fits them the best.

You may not know it, but I am really relaxed and down-to-earth. I love to have fun with the clients. We have a lot a fun together. And I have four puppies!
